Stella L. Howe
Stella Louise Howe, 94, formerly of Main Street, Piketon, Ohio died Thursday March 4, 2010 at Traditions of Chillicothe in Chillicothe, Ohio.
She was born April 9, 1915 in Pike County, Ohio, daughter of the late Fred Beekman and Flora Williams Beekman. On July 31, 1943, Stella was united in marriage to Charles Purl Howe who preceded her in death on December 10, 1978.
Surviving is a granddaughter, Donna Crace Hirsch and husband Mark of Chillicothe; two great grandchildren, Mark David Hirsch and Hannah Nellie Hirsch, and a sister, Rachel Kemper Of Waverly, Ohio as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, a daughter and son-in-law, Nellie and Don Crace, four sisters, Emma Seeling, Martha Cox, Roxie Beekman, Rheehama Beekman as well as nine brothers, Elihu, Cecil, Albert, Bill, Abe, Gordon, Howard, Warren, and Stanley Beekman preceded Stella in death.
Stella worked along side her husband Charlie at the Howe Co. Funeral Home in Piketon for many years. She was a member of the Piketon Jasper United Methodist Church, a member of Sorosis and was very active with the Dogwood Festival Committee for many years.
Funeral services will be held 6:30 p.m. Sunday March 7, 2010 at the Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home in Piketon with Rev. David Burriss officiating.
A private graveside service will be held Monday March 8, 2010 at the Mound Cemetery, Piketon.
Friends may call at the funeral home 3- 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
