Obituaries

Ernest S. Looney, 74, of Williams Road, Piketon, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.
He was born January 20, 1938 in Piketon, son of the late Edgar Looney and Viola Fern Lute Looney. On December 23, 1965 Ernie was united in marriage to Marlan A. Young Looney who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Rebecca Keaton of Piketon, two sons, Rodney Looney and wife Felicia of Piketon, Ricky Looney and wife Crystal of Peebles, Ohio, and eight grandchildren, Brandon Tackett, Ryan Looney, Amber Looney, Ashley Keaton, Evanna Swepston, Joseph Swepston, Abagail Looney and Cassidy Looney.
In addition to his parents, a daughter, Teresa Lynn Looney, and three brothers, Paul Richard, Edgar Lee and Gary Dale Looney preceded Ernie in death.
Ernie was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired truck driver for International Harvester and a member of Bethel Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 26, 2012 at the Bethel Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union, with Rev. Terry Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Piketon. Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Merritt Post 142, Waverly.
Friends may call at the Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and at the church, one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
