He was born July 6, 1937 in Red Bush, Kentucky, son of the late Eddie Williams and Dixie Frazier. On July 6, 1986, James was united in marriage to Kathleen Mae McCray Williams who survives. Also surviving are children, Regina Crabtree and husband David of Latham, Ohio, Albert Williams and Sherrielle of Waverly, Paul Williams and wife Cynthia of Bainbridge, 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter, a brother, Oscar Williams and wife Clara of Lucasville, Ohio, three sisters, Reva Nell Ratliff and husband Harold of Lucasville, Bonnie Brown and husband Dewey of Staffordsville, Kentucky and Willadean Pollard and husband Tom of Lucasville. James was former sawmill worker and attended Riverdale Church of Christ in Christian Union at Piketon, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Melissa Bundock officiating. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio.
