Birchie Mae Looney, 87 of Cherry Street, Waverly, Ohio, died Friday 13 April 2012 at Traditions at Bristol Village.
She was born on 2 April 1925, in Grundy, Virginia the daughter of the late Hibert Rife and Abby (Charles) Rife. In 1946, Birchie was united in marriage to Elzie Looney, who preceded her in death on 29 October 1969.
Surviving are three sons, Jerry Looney and wife Sandy of Waverly, Ohio, Gary Looney and wife Lola of Grundy, Virginia, and Larry Looney of Lucasville, Ohio; three daughters, Janice Blizzard and Bernice Burks both of Grundy, Virginia, and Jackie Scott and husband William of Piketon, Ohio, 25 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, four brothers Kermit Rife and wife Georgia Cheatham, Florida, Hassel Rife and wife Hope of Satsuma, Florida, Hufford Rife and wife Shirley and Bobby Rife both of Wolford, Virginia and one sister Lillian McMillian of Satsuma, Florida.
Birchie was a member of the Baptist Faith and was a Homemaker
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Leslie Looney, one daughter Charlene Justice, three brothers, Kirby, Franklin and Preston Rife and a sister Marie Ashby.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, 18 April 2012 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Rev. Todd Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Denver Road, Waverly, Ohio.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 – 8 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until the services hour on Wednesday.
