<description><![CDATA[Donald M. Carson, 89, of St Ann’s Lane, Waverly, Ohio, died 11:57 a.m. Saturday February 18, 2012 at Traditions at Bristol Village.
He was born October 9, 1922 in Piketon, Ohio, son of the late James R. Carson and Mollie (James) Carson. 
Surviving are a son, Michael R. Carson, of Groveton, New Hampshire, brother Russell E. Carson and wife Dorothy of Waverly Ohio, sister-in-law Bessie Carson, of Piketon, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. 
In addition to his parents, a daughter Donna Lee Carson and a brother James H. Carson preceded Donald in death.
Donald attended New Covenant Church of Christ in Christian Union in Waverly, was a retired machinist for the Torrington Company in Torrington, Connecticut and was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy on the Battleship USS Nevada.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the HOWE WHEELER BOYER HORNBACK Funeral Home in Piketon with Rev. Walter Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery Piketon, Ohio.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.

Jacqueline Dee Tackett, 43, of Germany Road, Waverly, Ohio died Wednesday, February 15, 2012. 
She was born November 4, 1968 in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of William Arnold Tackett and Pamela Jane (Little) Crabtree and husband Ron.
Surviving are two daughters, Tara Christian Stevens at home, Kasey Jane Stevens of Minford, grandson, Morgan Curtis Madden of Minford, Ohio, sisters, Shannon Carroll and husband Michael of Chillicothe, Ohio, Nikki Tackett of Piketon, Ohio, Hope Grooms of Piketon, Ohio, brothers, Luke and Matt Stanley of Waverly, Ohio, grandfather, William Tackett and wife Nancy of Piketon, Ohio, stepmother, Connie Tackett of Piketon, Ohio, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Christopher Tackett and grandmother, Eva Tackett.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly, with Bro. Boe Tackett officiating.

   Christa Brigitte Sretenovic, 83, passed away peacefully on February 12 at her home in Beaver Village, following a brief struggle with cancer.
   She was born on March 24, 1928, to George and Martha Prohl in Reichenbach, Germany. A survivor of World War II, she married Milan Sretenovic in 1946.  He preceded her in death in 1992.  In 1951, she and Milan immigrated to the US with their three small daughters, under the sponsorship of the Piketon Methodist Church, where they remained as lifelong members. They raised their growing family of six children on the Vulgamore Farm in Piketon.
   Christa is survived by her five daughters: Mileva (husband Richard) Hartman of Arlington, VA; Milijana Sretenovic of Brecksville; Mara Cergol of North Richland Hills, TX; Mira (husband Marc) Fesenmyer of Athens; Monika Irvine of Jasper; and one son, Mico (wife Debra) Sretenovic of Hilliard. She was &quot;Oma&quot; to nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
   She enjoyed gardening, reading and learning, baking, and making lovely recycled greeting cards, which were welcomed by family and friends. Christa will be remembered as a loving mother, a great animal lover, and a generous friend and neighbor to so many. 
   The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Jeanie Williams of the Passport program for her years of help and caring, and to the Adena Hospice staff who provided compassionate care to our mother in her last days.

Maxie Marie Athington Smith, 91, of George Hollow Road, Waverly, Ohio died February 10, 2012 at Traditions at Bristol Village in Waverly. 
She was born May 8, 1920 in Lowmansville, Kentucky, daughter of the late George Lowe, Sr. and Alma Lee Burton Lowe.  On December 11, 1936, Maxie was united in marriage to Ervin Athington, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1978. On November 11, 1994 she married Kenneth Smith, who preceded her in death on October 17, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Donald Lee Athington and wife Marilyn of Waverly; a daughter, Shelba Jean Fyffe and husband Robert of Waverly; five grandchildren, Gregory Fyffe and wife Diana, Karen Armbruster, Stephen Fyffe, Susan Jones and husband Gordon and Beth Spriggs and husband John; five great grandchildren and three great great granddaughter, two step-sons, Cal Stephen Smith of Beaver, Ohio, Calvin G. Smith of Chillicothe, Ohio; two step-daughters, Anita Chaney McDonald and husband George of Pace, Florida, Elaine Tackett and husband Robert of Waverly, as well as several step-grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, a sister, Imogene Lowe, two brothers, Billy Lowe and George Lowe as well as two step- sons, Ronald Smith and Kenneth Leroy Smith preceded Maxie in death.
Maxie was a member of Sandy Chapel Enterprise Baptist Church and homemaker.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday February 12, 2012 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly, with Bro. Lloyd Tackett and Bro. Henry Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Omega Cemetery, Waverly, OH.

She was born May 26, 1928 in Newport, Vermont the daughter of the late Roy and Grace (Smith) Bashaw.  She was united in marriage to Richard Addison Allen who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Craig Allen and wife Liz of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Mark Allen and wife Rachel of Eureka, California; a daughter, Betsy Allen of East Hardwick, Vermont; eight grandchildren, and a sister, Beverly Darby and husband Paul of Newport, Rhode Island.
In addition to her parents a brother, Ivan preceded Barbara in death.
Barbara was a member of Waverly First Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.
Calling hours will not be observed.

He was born July 30, 1934 in Chillicothe, son of the late John William and Mary Edith (Rayburn) Crabtree.  
Surviving are a son, Richard Thomas Crabtree and wife Beverly of Chillicothe, Ohio; three daughters, Rowena Fay Neal and husband Donald of Lucasville, Ohio, Janet Lee Delay and husband John of Waverly, Ohio and Susan Kay Moses of Knoxville, Tennessee; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; four brothers, William Richard Crabtree and wife Wanda of Chillicothe, Robert Thomas Crabtree and wife Maryanne of Columbus, James Henry Crabtree and wife Judy of Jackson, Ohio and Roger Dicky Crabtree and wife Tana of Minford, Ohio; and four sisters, Mary Emma Hardin, Ruth Ellen Draher and Dave Smith, Eunice Elizabeth Ramsey and Phyllis Ann Sword and husband Gary all of Chillicothe.
In addition to his parents a special friend, Diane Odle, preceded John in death.
John was a retired carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Pastor Brett McGraw officiating. Burial will follow in Omega Cemetery, Waverly.

   Vicki Jo Foster, 62 of Piketon passed away at her home on February 2, 2012 at 11:28 pm surrounded by her friends and family.
   She was born on June 30, 1949 in Hazard, Kentucky.  On March 6, 1970, Vicki was married to Philip M Foster.
   She is survived by her husband of 41 years Philip M Foster, two children Philip Ryan Foster and wife Brandy, Amanda Renee Little and husband Jeremy; five granddaughters, Madelyn, Chloe and Ava Little, Rylan and Halle Foster as well as her mother, Anne Smith of Dayton, Ohio.
   Her father Rodney Smith preceded Vicki in death.
   A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. She was a woman who led her life by example and a faithful member of the Lord&#039;s body.  She was a strong woman of faith and an active member of the 4th and Mullins Church of Christ in Waverly, Ohio. She was a wonderful Sunday school teacher, making class an exciting time for the little ones to learn more about God. She strived daily to put God first, help those who were weak, encourage those who were struggling and would always share the gospel to any who would listen. She would visit and bring home cooked food to the sick and you could always count on a card with words that would lift you up if you were feeling down.
   You would never leave her home hungry especially on Sunday afternoon, there was open invitation to anyone who was hungry to come over and eat or just enjoy each others company.  Friday nights were the favorite night of the week for her 5 little angels who couldn&#039;t wait to have a sleepover at Nanny and Papa&#039;s house.  She also took this time to nurture, love and teach the girls about God and how important He should be in their lives.
She challenged all of us to do what was right so that we can see her again when our lives on this earth are over.
   Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Christ’s Church of Waverly on David Road.  Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery in Piketon.
   Friends may call at the church from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from noon until the time of service on Tuesday
   Arrangements are under the direction of the Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home in Piketon.

She was born 24 August 1922 in Hagerstown, PA the daughter of the late William Oliver Peters and Sarah Eleanor (Overman) Peters.
On 3 March 1960 she was united in marriage to Glen Russell Mason who preceded her in death on 30 November 1988.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Janice L. Streitenberger and husband James of Waverly, OH, son, James M. Mason and wife Lisa of Oldsmar, FL, stepson, Fred H. Mason and wife Lynn of Yorba Linda, Ca, 13 grandchildren including Vanessa Mason, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, sister Alice May Paul of Hagerstown, MD and two brothers, Robert Peters of Taneytown, Md and Michael Peters of Littlestown, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by stepson, Robert Mason, brother, John Peters and sister, Clara Peters.
Lillian was member of St Mary, Queen of the Missions Catholic Church and was a homemaker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, 26 January 2012 at St Mary, Queen of Missions Catholic Church with Father William P. Hahn and Father Adam Streitenberger, Celebrating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly, OH.

Wayne T. Bradley, 90, of Waverly, passed Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Pike Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 28, 1921 in New Cumberland, WV, the son of the late Arch Bennett and Julia Zerelda (Turley) Bradley.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 65+ years, Colleen (Hunter) Bradley; daughters, Deborah K. Barch of Pearland, Texas and Diane (Frank) Smith of Circleville; son, David W. (Debbie) Bradley of Lancaster; grandchildren, Aaron (Annie) Barch, Jason (Sarah) Bradley, Rebekah, Jenna and Kalynn Bradley; great grandchildren, Ella and Gracie Barch, Tyler and Tessa Bradley and Logan and Luke Williams; cousin Beverly Ann (Dick) Daugherty; and special canine companion, Miss Trudy.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Doris Heinritz and great-granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Barch.
Wayne attended West Virginia University and later entered the Army Air Corps where he flew 44 missions during WWII.  He also served during the Korean Conflict and retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Lt. Col..  Wayne was proud to serve his country and instilled this patriotism in his children and grandchildren.
He spent many years coaching and umpiring Little League, Pony League and American Legion baseball in the Waverly area.  He was a huge Steelers fan and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds.  He took up the game of golf at age 70 and played for ten years.
Wayne attended the First Baptist Church in Waverly.  He was a member of Orient Masonic Lodge #321, the American Legion Merritt Post #142 and retired from Ohio Valley Electric Corporation with 43 years of service as a system load coordinator.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastors Dale Reed and Greg Schaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Merritt Post #142 Honor Guard.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home 4 - 8 p.m. Friday where a Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Outreach Council, 107 West Second Street, Waverly, Ohio 45690 or to the charity of your choice.

Tommy J. Rigsby, 53, of Waverly Ohio passed away Thursday January 19, 2012, at his home after a long battle with cancer. 
He was born December 4, 1958 in Portsmouth, Ohio, son of Thelma Alley Bartley of Lucasville, Ohio and the late Roger Rigsby. On September 17, 2005 Tommy was united in marriage to Shirley Puckett Rigsby, who survives.
Also surviving, stepfather, Charles Bartley of Lucasville, a daughter, Crystal Rigsby of Lucasville; two step daughters, Rachel Royster and Heather Ross of Waverly; four grandchildren, Ashley and Blake Puckett of Piketon, Ohio, Alexis and Devin Maynard of Waverly; a sister, Cathy Gee and husband Art of Piketon, as well as two nieces, Amy Davis and husband Gary of Waverly and Jamie Lee of Piketon.
In addition to his father, a brother James Darrell Rigsby, a son, Tommy “TJ” Rigsby, Jr. and a granddaughter, Zoie Puckett preceded Tommy in death.
Tommy was a retired logger and a member of Old Philadelphia Church at Minford.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Brother Maurice Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Jacobs Cemetery, Lucasville.
